What we do
Forklift Trainer delivers operator training for counterbalance, reach, rough terrain, side loader and telescopic handler trucks. Courses are run on your own premises using your own equipment, so operators learn in the environment they will actually work in and your business loses as little productive time as possible.
Alongside training, we publish reports on forklift incidents and Health and Safety Executive prosecutions, together with guides to maintenance, batteries, attachments and the daily checks that keep trucks safe. The aim is simple: fewer people hurt by lift trucks.
How we train
Every course follows the structure set out in the HSE Approved Code of Practice L117, Rider-operated lift trucks: operator training and safe use. Candidates cover the theory, carry out a full pre-use inspection and complete assessed practical driving before a certificate of basic training is issued.
Course length depends on experience. Complete novices typically need three to five days on a single truck type. Experienced operators converting to a new truck, or returning for a refresher, usually need one or two days.
