Refresh sooner if any of these happen
A date is only half the picture. L117 says refresher training or reassessment may be needed whenever there is a reason to doubt an operator's competence, whatever the calendar says.
- They have been involved in an accident or near miss.
- They have been seen operating unsafely, or have picked up bad habits.
- They have not operated a truck for some time.
- Their truck, attachments, loads or working environment are changing.
- Monitoring or an assessment shows a drop in standards.
